Retraction and Revocation of Articles
Withdrawal Policy
Kalyana Bhumi Community Service Journal is committed to maintaining integrity in the publication process. Authors are not encouraged to withdraw manuscripts after submission, as this will affect the efficiency of the editorial and peer-review processes. However, withdrawals may be made under certain circumstances, as follows:
- Withdrawal Before Review Process
- Authors may withdraw their manuscripts before entering the peer review process by submitting a written request to the editorial team.
- The request must be submitted formally by the corresponding author, stating the reasons for withdrawal.
- Withdrawal During or After Peer Review
- Once a manuscript enters the review stage, withdrawal is strongly discouraged.
- If authors wish to withdraw, they must provide a valid reason, and approval is subject to the editorial board's discretion.
- Frequent or unethical resignations may result in the author being blacklisted and unable to submit again in the future.
- Cancellation After Acceptance
- Cancellation after acceptance is not permitted except in exceptional circumstances (e.g., ethical issues, critical errors).
- If a retraction request is due to ethical violations or research misconduct, the journal reserves the right to issue a retraction and notify the relevant authorities.
- Unauthorized Withdrawals & Consequences
- If an author withdraws a manuscript unilaterally without notifying the editorial board, they may be barred from submitting future manuscripts for a period of time.
- Institutions or funding bodies may be notified if a violation is suspected.
- Right of Editorial Withdrawal
- This journal reserves the right to withdraw submitted manuscripts if ethical issues, plagiarism, or data falsification are found at any stage.
- Retraction notices will be issued for articles that have been published and are found to violate academic integrity.
This policy ensures fairness for all contributors and maintains the efficiency and integrity of the publication process.
Recall Policy
This journal maintains a commitment to the integrity of the scientific record. Retractions , when necessary, will be conducted in accordance with the Committee on Publications Ethics (COPE) guidelines for correcting academic record when significant ethical violations, misconduct, or inappropriate behavior are identified in a published article.
- Reason for Withdrawal
An article may be retracted under the following circumstances:
- Plagiarism: if the article contains significant portions copied from another work without proper citation.
- Data fabrication or falsification: if research findings are based on manipulated, fabricated, or falsified data.
- Duplicate publication: if the same article has been published in another journal without proper justification or approval.
- Ethical violations: if the article violates ethical standards of research, including the ethics of research on humans or animals.
- Undisclosed conflict of interest: if a serious undisclosed conflict of interest is found that compromises the credibility of the research.
- Major errors affecting validity: if errors in data analysis, methodology, or results significantly change the conclusions of the study.
- Withdrawal Process
- The editorial team initiates an investigation after receiving a complaint of a violation or error.
- Authors were given the opportunity to provide feedback before a final decision was made.
- If the revocation has a valid reason, the journal will:
- Publish a formal revocation notice that clearly states the reasons for the revocation.
- Marking the article as retracted, while still providing the original version for transparency.
- Updating the indexing database to reflect the revocation.
- Recall Notice
A retraction notice will be published in the journal and linked to the original article. The notice will include:
- Reasons for retraction (e.g. plagiarism, ethical violations, or fabrication).
- A statement explaining that the authors consent to the retraction.
- Information regarding the relevant editorial action.
- Partial Withdrawal and Correction
- If only part of an article is affected by an error, a correction or errata may be published in lieu of a full retraction.
- The correction will be clearly linked to the original article to ensure transparency.
- Consequences of Recall
- Retracted articles remain available but are clearly labeled to prevent further citation of the retracted work.
- Authors responsible for ethical violations may be barred from submitting future work.
- Serious cases of ethical violations may be reported to affiliated institutions or funding bodies.
